A tale of two Tamworths!!! When we were travelling by train in Oz last year I had booked a hotel for the night in Tamworth NSW & to my shock & my wife’s horror I had by mistake booked a room in a Tamworth UK hotel!! Luckily we were able to get a hotel next to the railway station. When we got back to the UK we visited Tamworth with our granddaughter & the park next to the castle is excellent & two young kids were wearing the full Blues Kit, which made my day as I had always thought it was 100% vilers!!! Fair play to the Lambs last night they took their chance & Huddersfield missed theirs & I'm hoping we show a lot more fight & skill tomorrow at Sutton!!!

There's loads of Blues in Tamworth these days.

They played well last night, my first trip down The Lamb for years. Last time I was in that clubhouse was at our sixth form parties.

Huddersfield fans were silent throughout and generally I thought the atmosphere was very flat, you'd expect the non league team to be hostile.

Maybe because of the stadium shape etc the atmosphere just doesn't get going.

Wouldn't fancy Peacock-Farrell under that long throw.

Wouldn't be shocked to see Blues go through and draw Tamworth next round, like to think we would prepare or even select people capable of defending the long throws, Huddersfield were all over the place and it almost seemed a shock to them when I think everyone else knew what was going to happen with the long throws.

Not fussed either way about Tamworth, but think people have been harsh on the Town itself, it is what it is and it's ok. Bonus points for having an actual castle.

Very funny that Huddersfield got done though, these were the divs who were claiming they'd do both us and Wrexham a few short weeks back, for that alone, well done Tammuth.

Personally I think some of the people throwing insults have forgotten that Birmingham has some truly awful suburbs scattered around the city, which have been conveniently forgotten and compared to some other towns in the UK Tamworth certainly wouldn't appear anywhere near the worst, Cumbernauld for instance would make Tamworth look like the south of France.

But fair play, I expected Hudds to go through, a bit of warning for tomorrow that it can go wrong if you approach the game casually or in the wrong frame of mind.

And I think some people have take a bit of ribbing far too seriously.

Truth be told, incredibly few parts of Britan are actual shit holes. Tamworth is just a dull commuter town, like loads of others. Albeit the castle is nice.

I do however agree with you that the result last night is a bit of a warning to Blues. It's why I think Davies will go very strong with the team. He won't want a national embarrassing on the telly.

You've got to be a top top top player to win a cup game on that pitch last night let me tell you.

eff them. I live in Tamworth as well. Majority of the fans are DVB’s

And I live there. Fook the DVBS, this is about Tamworth beating Uddersfield.

I don't live there, but I completely agree. Well done Tamworth.
Well done Tamworth, I've spent a lot of time there over the years, it's a larger version of my own home town Burntwood,a similar demographic, a good mix of fans of all colours.

Including a load of proper Blues.

Hey, I am not saying you are wrong, I am just saying you have had a sensationally bad week and probably need to lay off the fscts for a while.

its a bit of a mix but there are nice bits, that run of pubs around the Tame Otter and the area is nice. The town around all the leisure stuff has gotten a bit scruffy.

Seeing someone from your manor of Rugeley calling it a shithole or similar earlier in the thread seemed a bit odd. There is definitely Blues there, even if outnumbered but that is the same all over the Staffs way. There is a lot more in Lichfield than people realise.

The ticket thing came from the club via an OSC Chair, waddya want me to do. Back in the day that sort of thread would have been praised on here, it's gone soft.

Yeah Hopwas is a nice area, there are some nice pubs in the town centre - The Old Bank House for instance.

The Tamworth Tap has been voted the best beer garden in the country a couple of times running I think, a lovely garden built into the castle walls. I'm not into real ale myself but it's very popular.

The castle and the castle grounds are very nice.

Agreed that the Snowdome looks tatty now, it's where my gym is and we take the babs swimming there and it's ok inside but the building itself is dirty.

The town centre had a lot of potential with old buildings etc but like a lot of towns they were flattened for brutalist shite in the 60s whereas similar places like Ashby and Lichfield kept their roots. A shame.

Shopping wise the town centre is a shit hole, I agree with that. Some surrounding estates on the edges of town are very run down, I live on the north side which is traditionally older and nicer so I don't see it.

There's certainly much, much worse places in the Midlands and within Birmingham itself.
