The last kind of example was Mick Lynch recently. Proper good guy.
A strike so that a tiny proportion of the workforce gets a pay rise at the expense of the vast majority which has to pay for it? Very banker behaviour.

Oh, and an un-Blues opinion:

I have no dislike for Reading. Or Middlesbrough or Sunderland.

Yeah ...

... i'm almost made to feel guilty about the fact that i like to see Wolves and West Brom win (although i think that may be because we all share the same common enemy)

Surprised you didn’t suggest the government sent in a gunboat like 1911

Agree with that. Genuinely when I saw the Spanish lad that came over to see Forest, it just didn't move me one bit. I appreciate it brings things home for some people but I don't get the fawning over it. Maybe it's me,

It's not just you.

People exaggerate emotions online for some reason (they have to be exaggerated because if you're moved to tears by stuff like that young Spanish lad then you're emotionally unstable).

Same when somebody dies, guarantee there'll be a thread up here within a minute just saying 'RIP' because people have to be the first ones aboard the grief-olympics train.
Emotionally unstable? 😂
I did get teary at it. But I get teary at lots of nice and nasty things. Personally I’d say being emotionally stable is more weird. But don’t need to tell people apart from In replies to people almost mocking others for being touched by nice things being done.

Well who DOES pay for it? Denis Compton?

So you’re saying no one should get a pay rise if the vast majority have to pay for it. Read that back a few times.

It's not very Socialist behaviour though, is it? "My fellow workers, I'm stopping you from getting to work so that you can pay me more in taxes." It's what the bankers did.

No it’s not. You’re getting more ridiculous

I'm as cynical as they come but agree with you Rab.

I'd say being "emotionally stable " DOES mean (for some) feeling a bit teary at watching stuff like that Forest video - or at least having SOME emotional reaction - i didn't feel teary - i just felt tremendously happy for the kid.

Some people are more emotional than others. That's the way things are..... and we all have different triggers. The buggers to beware of are those who show no emotion, ever.

What a bizarre thing to post.

It is really.

I've started a lot of RIP threads in my time and i generally do it because i know people like to know these things - some will feel grief, others see it as a time to reflect on happy times, others will merely shrug to themselves and thing "blimey, that's a shame".

So, i don't see the RIP threads as anything other than "public information postings" (if you see what i mean) - and then others can use that thread as they wish. ..... and if people want to use it to crack jokes and puns then that's fine too in my mind. (obviously there are boundaries in terms of decency though)

It’s an absolutely ridiculous thing to write. But also typical.
