Ah right, sound. Though you couldn't actually buy any tickets in the Lowe Kop online at all, which seemed a bit mad, but they're back up and working now

I imagine they thought they were taking over a club where the fanbase promised to return in numbers once the previous regime had gone. As it turns out, a lot of it was just empty words. They've now gone "Oh shit, we need to fill this. Quick, reduce the prices".

We should be fairly ashamed as a fan base that they are having to resort to this, but fair play to them for not being too proud...

But the product on offer is gash right now. It's difficult to entice people in when the prospect of seeing winning football is so remote.

It doesn't take a genius to work it out. Sell 11 k season tickets in a 28 k ground and you will need to get creative with your marketing and put on some decent displays to lure in the missing fans and fill up those empty blocks.

Tbf the product was shit when people said they’d return and has been shit for most of the 148 years of existence

The onus is on the club to convert the floaters into ticket sales.

It's alright people saying they'll come back, but that doesn't put cash into the coffers. The sales and marketing dept have to do a bit more to ensure they convert the potential customers.

Did anyone seriously think we would automatically have sell outs when the kop opened, because we have a massive latent fan base, just waiting in the wings?

Exactly this. The notion that they would suddenly sell thousands of season tickets (even at a discount) just because the stands were re-opened was pie in the sky. You would think the marketing professionals at the club would have realised this and recognised the need to be a lot more creative which they have attempted to but probably far too late for todays game.
