Can you still get a pint of proper Mild ale in Brum these days?

Yes in the real ale pubs like the Wellington and Post Office Vaults

The Spotted Dog serves Highgate Mild. I think the Old Moseley Arms possibly has M&B mild (along with the all too rare Brew XI).

I'm 99% sure that Bainsy's does M&B Mild

I can't believe people drink the stuff. Especially those under 70.

Brew XI on tap in the Real Ale Tavern in Bewdley

Had to try it as it was my drink from growing up….thought it was dreadful tbh

Totally agree it was the easiest drink to top up with slops having worked in The Yew Tree many years ago.

I tend to drink it when I see it, out of a sense of loyalty and nostalgia but you’re right, it’s not as good as it used to be.

Will have to buy you a beer one day I think you are a Yardley Lad. I'm usually in one of the 3 pubs. 😁

I had a Manns Brown and Mild at Black Country Museum in the Summer. Not as a I remembered it growing up.

When I started drinking (16/17 I think) I started with M&B mild, because it was the cheapest 16p a pint as I remember.
Moved on to Brew 1X then to various bitters. Brew 1X was 18p a pint.
Pi**ed for under a £1. Mind you my wages were between £11 and £15 a week for me at the time.

Not in the Country Girl on Parkfield Road it wasn't. Around 50 years ago now.
