Good - bleed the tramps dry.

Excellent, also prices out the proper villa fans who've waited all their lives for this so some random Tarquins can go instead.

To true, on the train home from Orient was chatting with an Everton fan who had been to Spurs and a Leicester fan who had been to Fulham and both had paid £30.00 for tickets.
Meanwhile us at Orient had paid £32.00

As we all know, you can't be a proper football fan unless you're poor.

Not defending their prices, it's shit, but classism pisses me off (even those punching upwards).

I meant the types that wouldn't bother normally but will fancy the glamour of it. Not posh people in general.

Correct but I paid £40 to go to Brugge away and had to pay £40 for my lad who was then 9. And that’s pretty much 13 years ago. Were used to Blues being ridiculously cheap as STH and via various special offers for friends and family.

I don’t think it’s just for Champions Leage. My son (as I’m sure most of you know) is a Villa fan. He used to be a season ticket holder but gave it up when he got married and had kids. In recent years he’s been going to matches on an ad hoc basis (he’s been on the waiting list for a season ticket for him and my 2 grandchildren for 5 years. Anyway, I digress - this season, ticket prices have increased a lot. He went to their match at home to Arsenal last week - paid £55 which was the cheapest ticket price

And there were no child prices available so it’s £55 for my 12 year old grandson

I'm sorry for your grandson Mo but that should teach him to support a proper club.

If you are selling out i think you can do that. Why have a concession if someone is willing to pay full price?

In the short term that makes perfect sense, in the long term I'm not sure it helps to grow a fan base

Maybe, maybe not. Still keen to see the long term data on whether kids for a quid actually helped us.

Also should other fans subsidise other people's kids?

£35 I think. I had to pay postage and a booking fee on top of the ticket price.

I notice the postage cost has gone up from £1 to £2 this season. Even sharper rise than the cost of stamps.

Do you reckon this pair are intent on keeping hold of villa and growing the club in long term?

The club is probably at it's highest value now - winning a cup won't add more value, Rat Hole Towers can't be extended by much - though they can possibly reconfigure the Corporate hospitality - and they aren't likely to be regularly in the Champions League.

Probably a good time to turn a profit.
