CharcyLe ModCharcyIf you are selling out i think you can do that. Why have a concession if someone is willing to pay full price?
In the short term that makes perfect sense, in the long term I'm not sure it helps to grow a fan base
Maybe, maybe not. Still keen to see the long term data on whether kids for a quid actually helped us.
Also should other fans subsidise other people's kids?
I'm not saying it's right or wrong
I just don't think it's a simple economic argument of 'get the maximum price now = more revenue', just seems a bit basic and short term, but I don't have any long term data, only anecdotal evidence of my mates going to the Blues because it was cheap and still being fans in their 30s.
Should fans subsidise kids, the disabled, pensioners, I dunno, given the extra money made doesn't seem to be drastic it would be nice to have a range of prices but I guess the market is deciding here cause it'll sell out . Ultimately it's Villa so I hope it backfires in the long run.
Hopefully when the Sports Quarter is up and running we can have affordable Premier League football and the kids/tourists/students of West Midlands will choose us as a result
CharcyI’ve no problem with kids tickets being subsidised even though I’ll be doing the subsidising. They’re the future. To help subsidise it I’d make OAP tickets the same as adultsLe ModCharcyIf you are selling out i think you can do that. Why have a concession if someone is willing to pay full price?

None of it is necessarily what I think but they are all solid arguments.
Re knowing some people who are 30s. Without knowing a) whether they would have gone if it was more and b) is there actually more of them than those around 50 (I don't reckon there is) then it's very unreliable.
I think if you can sell the ticket at full value then it's fair enough though. The kid isn't necessarily any more important than the person buying full price.

Yeah I have no data, anecdotal evidence isn't really worth anything, agreed.
I agree with your last point, they're not more important really
I guess if I was running a club I think would be looking at ways to claim the next generation of fans in the locality, maybe the answer is simply to be a good team and you don't actually need them to attend games anymore, I dunno, that's probably why I don't run a club.
You’d think so wouldn’t you - but I can’t convince them otherwise 🙄

They do have concessions but no adult/kid seats left - I don’t think they have many
Vile are not expecting to be in the champions league regularly and haven't been close to it for a generation so the owners are taking full advantage. If they sell out they will argue they have the price point right. It is rubbish for working class fans but when you consider people have willingly paid up to £350 a ticket for Oasis thanks to price gouging it puts that price into context.
At the moment because they have forked out so much on players and generally succeeding them lot will not have a bad thing said about their ownership. Wait till they drop down to 8-9th in the league and drop out of UCL at the group stage, the natives will turn.

I don't think some of our fans would be any different. Could even happen this season.
Sweepover FEAI agree this thread should be taken down !Who gives a monkies about Witton Villages ticket prices .I'm not gonna mince my words on this.
It's an absolute feckin disgrace, horrible.

BluenoseMoI don’t think it’s just for Champions Leage. My son (as I’m sure most of you know) is a Villa fan. He used to be a season ticket holder but gave it up when he got married and had kids. In recent years he’s been going to matches on an ad hoc basis (he’s been on the waiting list for a season ticket for him and my 2 grandchildren for 5 years. Anyway, I digress - this season, ticket prices have increased a lot. He went to their match at home to Arsenal last week - paid £55 which was the cheapest ticket price
Mo, I love you and please don't take this personally, but it effin well serves him right.
I speak as the son of a viler Dad as well 😁
