First half we passed the ball as well and quickly as we have all season. Stampsted made some great runs which dragged them across, Paik took up the space as almost a second CF and that left Hanson wide open for prime pirlo to hit him with wonder passes.

Once we went 2 up they spoiled the game me the ref went from competent to demonstrating the worst level of refereeing I’ve seen. He was beyond dismal, some of his decisions were simply hilarious

Willy looked better, Dowell very good and I thought Hanson had one of his better spells, not sure why he went off

May did well for the second goal but should’ve scored himself following that but lobbed over, he’s clearly anxious in front of goal

Apparently he had a niggle so was taken off at half time as a precaution.

Thanks Mo, least it’s hopefully not serous

Thought he looked quite sharp although he needs to get into the box for crosses more

Agree with all of this. Do you not think the fact the referee refused to give fouls first half helped us build a sustained momentum.

I might be in a minority but Hansons final ball so far has been atrocious

Trouble is, the marker for what’s decent against us is a side having a couple of shots at goal

It was like a prem team v league two cup game last night and the ref was from the central Warwick’s league

Yeah - all fair.

They had the decent shot very early, then a couple of decent efforts later on - mostly created by our sloppinees / overconfidence.

The goal was a good strike.

It is all relative, teams who come out of their own half at St. Andrew's count as heroic in my book.

I will credit them a bit as I reckon they had more shots than the last 6 or 7 opponents we have faced at home put together.

Letting the game flow was fine but he gave fouls to them that weren’t fouls, had linesmen that couldn’t give a throw in, gave a corner then gave a throw and seemed intent on just looking the other way when they fouled us.

First half he reffed well, second half he may as well put a red shirt on

I get your point on Hanson but I thought he ran their full back ragged and linked well with Cochrane and Paik

They started time wasting from the third minute. He really didnt.

There was a passage of play at around 75 minutes, when we had about 15 passes, but couldn't get out of the Railway/Kop corner. They were hustling hard but lacked that bit of skill (or half a yard of pace and thought) to get a toe on the ball. It sort of summed up the game - they were giving it a proper lash but were a couple of steps down.

Thanks for all the summaries. Trust people on here more than a bitter manager

Considering we haven’t lost at home all season we must be the luckiest team in the world seeing how many opposition managers feel their teams worthy of a draw after 90 minutes.
Buy my novel (if you want to of course), The Loneliness That Others Call Freedom by Steven Vaughan. Available in both Kindle and paperback format.

He did and it stopped for a while. Add to that every throw etc etc.

Absolute fraud. I’m the most nervous watcher there is, but that was as comfortable as it gets. If they are on our level let’s see what he’s got to say when we beat them for the 3rd time this season.
Wow, thats some take. Their passing move in the first couple of minutes was excellent, and that almost led to a goal. After that they looked terrified to leave their half.

I think opposition managers confuse us taking our foot off the gas (which we did as soon as we got the second), for their team playing well and deserving something.

They are a decent team, and I would expect a tougher game away from home, but they should believe in themselves and attack us. They may get something, and with their league position, they have nothing to lose.

I disagree - some of Hansson’s link up play and some of his crosses into the box were excellent
