Posh fan in peace. Until Wembley at least. Where you'll hammer us.

I've had a shitload on Stansfield top L1 scorer and can't get my head round what's going on. Factoring in how many pens you'd likely get was a big part of why I backed him.

Wtf is he thinking? He'd now be one ahead of Kone rather than one behind. I was thinking maybe Saturday was a one-off, with him about to be subbed after an injiry absence.

Obviously it's pocket-talk but I've never known such a lack of ambition from a striker, especially one chasing the golden boot. No way a Shearer or Haaland would give up pens, ever. Let alone voluntarily.

The league's in the bag. He's struggling with the mental side of it?

Get in the bin mate

Saturday was possibly because he and the Lincoln goalkeeper were together at Fulham so he knew all about his pens. However, judging by the fantastic penalty scored by Dowell, I can see why they decided to get him to take last nights too .

How do you know it's voluntarily?
Happy Clapper

Dowells technique is brilliant

One miss and you’re off, ruthless

Apparently he knows the Lincoln keeper from Fulham so didn't want to take the pen. Then Dowell has just kept on taking them, presumably until he misses one. Stansfield's penalties aren't always the most convincing tbh. However, he is a proper team player.

Personally always think that stansfield takes his penalties like he doesn’t want to take it. As if he just wants it done and out the way. Bar the Rotherham penalty always thought he was a poor penalty taker.

Chris Davies certainly didn't know Jay wasn't taking it Saturday.

Posh fan or not he is right, it is strange for your star striker to give up taking them. He had a great scoring rate

Some of his penalties were iffy before he missed one

Dowell is better

Its that simple

Maybe Fulham have an add on included, maybe if he scores 25/30 goals this season another £1 million will be added on, who knows it's all guesswork, as long as they go in it does not matter who takes them
09:54, Wed 12 Mar
Sorry for your loss.
09:56, Wed 12 Mar
We'll have a word and tell him chompy from Peterboroughland has a fiver on him. That should focus his mind.
09:57, Wed 12 Mar
Is he right?

Dowell takes them better, if Stansfield didn’t want to come off them he wouldn’t, he’s the star

Stannos penalties haven't been great. He's got a bit lucky with a couple of them.

Haha, so many angry replies. I was asking a genuine question, trying to spark a sensible debate.

Let's look at a proper striker, Ivan Toney. Big Ive always said he looked at penalties as easy goals to help boost his numbers.

Kone is probably the same. In fact I'll be having a chunk on Kone as a cover bet, square things off a bit. He'll never give away penalties and is going much higher than your boy anyway. Give it two or three years he'll be banging them in for a mid-table PL side, while eight-figure Stanno boy will still be hiding on the left for a dull Championship club. "Ooh, I'm too much of a chicken shit to take one against the mighty Stevenage."

That aside please don't think you've achieved anything using Tom Brady's $$$ to buy a pub league. This squad should manage 100pts, 100 goals and provide the top scorer. One out of three is -ev according to Meatloaf.
