Could tell they were going to do this when WMR tried to hide behind our privately funded shuttle buses for why they weren't going to fulfil their service, and went at war with blues fans on twitter about it.

Perhaps the number of fans coming into Brum on the Stratford or Warwick lines might be ascertained to determine whether it's worth running additional shuttle buses from Small Heath station. Call it The 1906 - the year we moved from Muntz Street

Why should the club have to fund yet more buses. Would they dare close a station at rat hole park, no chance.

I hope they start holding back a couple of the buses for people that genuinely need them. Seen a few old boys waiting for one the week whilst piles of young lads jumped on them

Some form of priority system maybe?

Easy to organise and works a treat!
I bet you all a gazillion pounds that they shut Bordesley Station and then don't build the Camp Hill Line Chords.

Unlikely. It’s far cheaper to keep a station open than it is to go through the process of formally closing one.

They won’t be spending the money on closing Bordesley for no reason.

Would they dare close a station at rat hole park, no chance.

If it was to make way for a vital piece of infrastructure for the city then yes they would.

But yanno, it’s more fun to pretend theres some anti-Blues conspiracy.

Might do with something in play for the Tuesday night games. Perhaps the oscs become more formalised with transport back to Solihull station, Stratford and Leamington. I think Vile have quite a network of such buses out to such places despite there being a proper train halt at their gaff

Wasen’t suggesting a conspiracy lol, I am no expert on rail travel so maybe you can enlighten me why it needs to close to enable the chords to be connected to moor st. I am genuinely interested.

It's a bigger and more complicated junction than most would imagine it to be as they're baking in long term capacity rather than doing it on the cheap.

What Raspers said.

I can't see how closing Bordesley costs them too much money.

There isn't really spare capacity at Snow Hill because they put the tram in there. Gaining capacity at Moor street by moving trains to Snow Hill is robbing Peter to pay Paul.

There should be capacity released at New Street when HS2 comes surely? I can't see the gain by connecting the Water Orton line to Moor Street which is the part in the diagram which seems to particularly obliterate Bordesley. Maybe the 'new' Kings Heath line should run into Curzon Street like the original did?

I have a feeling the time scale for the proposed closure would, anyway, be after we move to the new stadium. Maybe there is a deal to be done there - proper infrastructure for the new sports quarter in return for not opposing the closure?

There's plenty of capacity at Moor St (and even Snow Hill now that trams no longer use it).

So, extra local services and possibly extra London services just by getting rid of a station that no-one uses.

There is also no way a local service can run into Curzon St, nor should it.
There's too much opinion and not enough fact.

The 7 platforms at Curzon Street aren't all planned to be operational and aren't built yet so I don't see why it wouldn't be feasible or even desirable to feed HS2 with local trains.
23:51, Thu 13 Mar
That's completely mad.

A single line runs into Curzon St from Washwood Heath, and there is no physical way a train can get from Bordesley Junction into Curzon St.

I've driven trains in the West Midlands for the last 25 years, and the things you're suggesting are impossible.
