We were in block 133 right behind the goal and stood the whole game. Not once did any day tripper ask me or anyone else to sit.

Also what was on the big flag as I was under it so did not get to see what it was
Turn left when you get on a plane.

It was the club crest and ‘BIRMINGHAM: ON THE RISE’ written underneath

There was a TF flag too apparently but eff knows where as I didn’t see it at all

Had a group of six cockneys behind us in block 524, apparently there Brummie mate got them tickets and he was sat elsewhere (their words).

Four of the mentioned six were where so hammered I’m surprised they made it up the stairs, one of the group fell onto a group of three next to us and ended up in our row on the floor, one being a young lady, who looked incredibly uncomfortable for the entire first half, luckily they didn’t come back for the second half.

Agree with others, terrible atmosphere, but I’m over it already, roll on Friday!

Daytrippers.
This, basically. Which I don’t have a problem with. But when all you hear is constant whining, punch thems, get it outs and switch its, it became quite a depressive atmosphere. Lot of blokes off their heads too.

Agreed modern flat pack all seater stadiums are pretty rubbish for atmosphere generally. Apart from most away support sections.
Standing sections are helping. A bit.

On the top tier, I was 547, if you walked along the concourse to the end it opens out to a larger area with several drink outlets. More choice there and draft. I had a craft beer from a small stall £7.60 which I didn’t think was too bad. Three woman serving no queue at all half hour before kick off.

I assume they have similar on the other side.

Same in block 552, got served straight after HT - £6.99 a pint

Ashamed of myself for following the rest of my block and surrounding blocks by sitting down as soon as the whistle started the game. Contrast to the newcastle game where I didn't sit down at any point in the GMU (but the block next to me in the GMU all were sat down the entire time). Think a lot of it was the people who don't go the blues much, but even the lower tier (STHs) looked like they were sat down a lot. Maybe selling block by block concentrating fans of similar interest is better after all!

I had a coke head to one side of us and to the other side a chap who seemed to drink 6 stellas at the ground. Grand.

The was an 85 year old near me who stood the whole game.

The main problem with the atmosphere was that we got sucker punched by two good goals quite early on and offered very, very little going forwards.

I get that people think we should be the ones that get the team up for it but it's really quite rare that you have a great atmosphere when the team are playing crap. Newcastle game we got off to a flyer.

I also think there's something in the fact there were empty seats in the Peterborough end and that maybe how the tickets were sold meant friends were more dispersed than usual. Having family sections is a good idea, I was with my 6 year old and I like everyone standing all game, but I wouldn't want it where I was as otherwise he wouldn't be able to see.

Never forget in 2011, it was a "proper" trophy, against one of the big boys, we were big underdogs, Bowyer scored a perfectly good goal early doors that got ruled out and we looked bang up for it from the start. Very, very different circumstances.

Bowyer didn't score in 2011. He was fouled by Szczesny for the clearest penalty and red card ever.
The assistant ref invented an offside to prevent it.

I was in 543. We walked past two bars that seemed to be pretty much identical and went to the one behind the block. It only had Stella unfiltered and a big queue. It wasn't obvious that if we moved down a bar or two there would be more room and better choices of beer. Stella isn't my choice of overpriced swill. It was too cold and you couldn't really taste it, but ok I suppose. It was pretty much what I expected.
