I’m a good lad, don't get banned anymore although I’m sure some fecker had it in for me a few years back.

One mod deffo had it in for me a bit, don't blame them, I could be an arse sometimes though I've mellowed out a lot over the past couple of years for various reasons.

Not been naughty stepped in ages now though and barely see that mod post here much anymore either.

Can i suggest that anyone trying to get round any ban by changing their username, hiding their IP address, re-registering, etc should get an automatic 6 month ban.

Can I suggest they also get a life? Could you be arsed going through all of that just to post some shite on here. Christ.

You'd be surprised how terminally online some people are and how their mood is dictated by their ability to access certain platforms.

Internet addiction, particularly social media (including forums like this) is addictive and some people get hooked. and if their access is taken away then creating VPNs or spoofing IPs isn't much work to get that dopamine hit back.

I used to be like this till I took measures to improve my mental health.

I agree that some people on here are addicted. Knowing that people apparently constantly sign up again with new usernames is a bit mad.

Tbh seeing the same names on every thread really puts me off this entire site. A thread about the weather turns into an argument with the same 2 or 3 people. I saw somebody who joined in the summer's account had twice the amount of posts as I've ever made. People need to step away from the forum a bit.

I only use one other forum (a guitar forum) and hardly ever now, but one of their rules was that, if you'd been banned for a time, trying to get round it with a different user name, IP address, etc meant that it was a permanent ban. As you say, you've got to be a bit desperate, or have too much time on your hands, to get into that state over a fecking internet forum.

They also have a closed (by them after each post), sticky thread letting the forum know what actions have been taken and why. It's really quite (deliberately) funny to read.

I've never been banned, but did have a telling off for calling a tedious old bore a tedious old bore.

I was a bit sulky about that - and I'm sure that I had a couple of 'cease and desist' messages after getting into it a bit too much with the much-missed DES, which was fair enough. Anyway, it IS a privilege and not a right to use this forum, even though it's full of weirdos.

A public audit log of who’s banned and why would be funny as eff.

Thats the difference. Some posters get temporary bans from the politics board and some get banned for life…. Thats the point I was making.

And the point I made on that thread still stands. Are you that angsty that you can't post words on a sub forum for a football fan website? Cos if that's the limit of your worries life really is good.

I only post on two sites this , and a watch collecting site.My wife reckons rather than a dopamine hit , both make me unhappy and moody .I must admit i find some of the drivel posted on both sometimes annoying .I don't do social media Insta,Facebook,Twitter etc .

I still tend to be on my phone too much .I'm actually thinking of getting a 'dummy ' phone a Nokia Flip for just calls and texts, and knocking the smartphone on the head.It has limited memory 4g so i will just download Whatsapp.

I need to be online for work , but i find it easy to put the chromebook down,if it's not to earn money/work.Your phone is always in your hand,and i'm always checking some app or other .I've recently uninstalled a lot of apps on my existing phone.

The only thing is i will miss my music apps when out and about .So i might have to just go cold turkey on my existing handset.

I was banned so long ago that I forgot the board existed.

I got banned because I wouldn't agree with some ones claim that a bus said 350mil a week would go to the NHS, the "politics" forum has been blanked out for me since.
It's just a cigar bar.

I often read posts on here claiming other people post drivel on SHA.Makes me wonder what appeals in the first place in that case, and if they think other people are posting drivel, yet they nevertheless can’t tear themselves away, why not put up something that isn’t?

You know what a good point well made .You're correct it's pretty simply solved,message received and understood logging off .
