I went for a test after hearing Simon Jordan talking about it on Talk Sport.
Sure enough my test and biopsy showed I have cancer of the prostate.
I am waiting for an appointment at Coventry Hospital to have it removed but have no idea what the waiting time is, I was only referred two weeks ago.

What Gleason score are you if you dont mind me asking?

I have been diagnosed too and have appmt soon with my consultant to decide which treatment?
Have you definitely decided to have it out, side effects can be severe compared to other treatments

Good luck pal. I’m 63 and was diagnosed with it 14 years ago. I only got tested because my dad was dying of it and I read that it was hereditary.
I was incredibly lucky because I had no symptoms but had an aggressive strain and caught it early. I had surgery to remove the prostate and am still healthy and fully functioning 🙂, if I hadn’t got in early I’d have been gone many years ago, so 100% endorse your advice and underline that you need to be checked every single year it’s not a one off.
All the best Kro
It’s good to be lucky mate. KRO
It was Flamingo that prompted me to go. I had very few symptoms. They found an aggressive tumour that had spread to the local lymph nodes..all the other scans, bones etc were clear. To say I owe him a drink is an understatement. Let's keep talking about it and make people aware, people like me who had no idea...Thanks cor the good luck shout Rab. KRO everyone.

All the best, this thread is bloody terrifying.
Tell you what that crack is really moreish.
My score is 3 & 4 on the Gleason scale.
I was offered 3 choices
(1) Do nothing
(2) Have Radiation and Hormone
Treatment
(3) Have it removed
As I'm 69 years old and single the side effects such as problems with erection etc are fairly meaningless to me so I decided to have it out.

Also 3 & 4
I have decided not to have mine removed as i am mid 50's
and now single, but would still hoping to get back in the saddle one day :)) so still want my bits working
as best they can.

Otherwise, I'd be going the same route as you

All the best with the op, and well done for getting checked. I didn't get checked and was LUCKY
that my psa showed up in a 'general' blood test when being investigated for something else unrelated. phew!

All the best, this thread is bloody terrifying.

It is, but it's also SHA at it's best.

We all have more in common than just being Blues fans.
There's too much opinion and not enough fact.
Best of luck Bordesley, we might even last long enough to see the Blues back in the Premiership 😁
All the best to you as well 👍

I have a Gleason score of 9. After Hormone treatment my PSA went from 31 to 1.3. The aim is a total cure. My Hormone therapy is continuing until April 2026.
