Was this down to people buying tickets to help with Wembley priority and then not turning up or did loads of STHs just have a night off.
Looked like plenty of empty seats in the Kop and more than usual in the Tilton.

Think a few might have had a night off; schedule has been relentless and I know for some it’s tough getting to midweek games.
I know 3 season ticket holders that didn’t go. They all live a distance away. They just watch in the telly.
No more night games so the four left should all be full and much better.
Managed to get drinks before the game, at half time and a couple of pisses. Happy for the stay always to stay away to be honest.
I know of 7 season ticket holders that didn’t go last night. But yeah, a lot will be seats purchased for the Wembley priority
Plenty of kids miss evening kick offs and night shift workers from places like Land Rover or Jag.
Think it was more to do with season ticket holders not fancying it. Quite a few regulars around me were not there last night.
Can understand it.
My other half was on nights so couldn’t go shift patterns and all that ,my old man who would normally go instead is ill so he couldn’t go either ,
There was a group of 5 STHs near me that never turned up, they've missed plenty of games. Maybe evening games are tough to get to but maybe season tickets are too cheap and some are not bothered if they don't go.
I love a midweek game but there are far too many of them now. Is there any chance this'll be rectified over time either by extending the season or limiting the number of obscure international breaks or by placing all the FA Cup rounds from fourth round onwards into midweek?
Yeah my 14 year old was knackered and had revision for GCSE standing so gave it a miss.
Saturday Tuesday has been punishing tbh. Of course I moaned but what can you do

Paddocks has this all the time even most Saturday kick offs. I myself missed nine games last season, but have only missed the Wrexham league game this and I was able to shift the ticket on the resale. We're doing well though really it still looked (and indeed it was) a very good crowd last night. Compare that to what Blackburn routinely get midweek or what Stoke will get tonight or what the ground looked like eleven seasons ago towards the end of Lee Clark's tenure when we couldn't buy a home win for a couple of seasons

Neither of the first two will happen, the first marginally maybe. The latter is hard because of weeks set aside for European competition.
It can’t be that much different to 95 in terms of numbers if you don’t have international players. There were cup replays back then and two legged league cup in early rounds. So I’m not sure ‘the far too many of them now’ stands up.
A load of STH I know by me were absent last night
