Once mad has configured the new seating plan we will have loads more to sell too

Yeah, attendances have been much better and I think the demand for season tickets in the Summer will be massive, as long as the prices remain affordable for most.

We should consider building a bigger stadium or summat.

As I said previously, and on the basis that the club made no effort to increase season ticket sales during this season, you wonder if the club might put a cap on new season ticket purchases.

Better to have an empty GMU than see 500 empty seats in the Kop.

Not better for the clubs bank balance though

"Sometimes in life we’re the pigeon, and others we’re the statue."

I lyk that. Good piece again Dan, while you hope the club always has the fans at heart, as you say, if we want success that also means a tacit acceptance of change, we can't go where we want to be without change. We can all stay in our comfort zones, or go with it.

No one forces anyone to go. Personally, I'm dead excited and can't wait for the day I jack in work and get an ST again.

One thing about you can say about Blues is that the more some things change, the more they stay the same. While the team might be on for a record points haul on the pitch and the financials off the pitch go from strength to strength, online its drama once again with Wembley tickets at the heart of i

Great article Dan.

Given the large window for 'Priority 2' STHs, I'm surprised they didn't stagger the 7 day period i.e. STHs 10 years, 5 years, 3 years, etc - it would have been a nice gesture, cause minimal fuss and mitigate where you mention "we cannot alienate too many of the current fans who have supported the club through thick and thin"

For the record, I would've been impacted as my sons have only got STs in the last few years.

I see your point, but I meant if they were to bring in the Brentford scheme

As a STH I wouldn't want any financial gain if the alternative was losing my season ticket

Maybe the database is not in a good enough state for that sort of affair?

You’re probably right!

A higher ST base, supply and demand needs to be tighter. Must be close to 7,000 seats for General Sale each game, seems like a lot to me. Under 19,000 is decent but could be higher. There are areas of the ground without any ST holders, effectively a closed stand unless demand requires it open.

Like I say, a decent Summer of growth last Year, but this Summer needs to be when the fans and club screw it down. 22,000 STs and then the 3,000 / 4,000 General sale become gold dust.

You may be right but none of us knows the business plan and what the targets were do we? That number of season tickets sold and the crowds we have been getting - in a lower division and after over a decade of poor fayre and pessimism - don’t seem bad to me. If they were projecting more I’d say that was being a tad optimistic. Though of course how they grow them now is a real challenge. Will take continuing success and perhaps a higher quality of entertainment?

I dont think they were projecting more this season / last Summer. I would imagine after relegation / shit storm / circus that came with that, the fact we are getting good crowds in the 3rd tier they are happy with things.

This Summer brings new challenges, back into a higher division. The belief the ST prices will rise. Does that put current ST holders off? It's going to be very interesting and exciting.

Everton used the length of time a season ticket had been held for priority windows for season ticket purchases in their new stadium, not beyond the realms that we'll do something similar.

I use a digital ticket on the phone now.
I've held my actual season ticket for less than 5 minutes this season.

I don't think the season ticket thing would suit my brother at all.
He's a 3+ hour drive from the ground and sometimes doesn't make the decision as to whether to come to night games until 3pm on the day.
It depends on the weather, how busy he is, how tired he is and how many matches we've had at home recently.
I would guess he makes about 15 home games a season.
But it is important to him to be able to sit in the same seat, with people he knows. If he wasn't able to do that I suspect his attendance would drop off a fair bit.
I don't think it is a question of cost so much as he can't always leave at 3 and not be back until 1.30 am.

If they go with such a scheme, they would likely only be concerned about the examples where the game was sold out, and you didn't use your ticket and you didn't offer it for resale, and did this several times. The resale option would have to be available late enough to kick off for it to work for your brother.
