Rab C NesbittYeah that rattled me as well. He also asked the player if he needed the physio on, he of course said no as he didn’t want to have to go off for 30 seconds. The ref gave him about 30 seconds before restarting the game and gave it their keeper.
When play is stopped for a head injury the player should be forced to go off for 30 seconds regardless if they want physio assistance. It’s really that simple
I was sooo fecking annoyed at that - and all the other stupid decisions he made. My face was purple !!
I find arching games on tv more difficult because of twerps who are thick and talk too much in the name of commentary and summarising
Legal_BluenoseAnd for most of his kicks he carried the ball outside the areas
We were getting a bit incensed with it weren’t we? Especially Southy (and me!!) 😂
I spotted that, it was an absolute joke.
The ref was actually much worse than what a lot of you guys are saying, but I don’t think it mattered much in the end. The football gods just weren’t on our side.
I haven’t watched the game back, should we have had a pen off any of our calls? One looked blatant on Laird but I was miles away from it.
No, it didn’t really make a difference - but the more Peterborough got away with play acting and fouls, the worse they became. The melee was caused by the ref’s incompetence!
There was a corner in the second half where Klarer was getting the shirt ripped off his back that should’ve been a pen.
They had a stone wall pen too.
Los AzulesI spotted that, it was an absolute joke.

The Laird one first half was stonewall
It wasn't a penalty, he kicked his leg into our player.

It's irrelevant anyway. The ref went to give the pen (you can see him put his whistle to his mouth - thanks EFL commentator for pointing that out) and then didn't give it to play advantage so Poku could have his shot. Allsop saved his shot, play continued. Once a team takes a shot that's it, advantage is over.
Ours were silly. Can't remember the Klarer one but the ones on the EFL highlights reel on youtube on Laird and Anderson are criminal. How they're not given I have absolutely no idea
Have we ever had a decision go our way when we are attacking a corner? Both sides are guilty of it but it's never in our favour.
Yeah two absolute stone wall penalties to me.
BluetoneHave we ever had a decision go our way when we are attacking a corner? Both sides are guilty of it but it's never in our favour.
Yes we have.
So far as I can see most fouls at corners are committed by defenders, but mostly when referees give a foul it is a free kick to the defending side.
When forwards commit fouls it is largely, but not exclusively trying to get past a player blocking them or to stop holding or shirt pulling.
That is the initial offence is usually committed by the defender.
I can sort of see that giving a defensive free kick seems less of a big decision than giving a penalty, but I am not sure it is really.
If referees actually penalised defenders for playing the man rather than the ball at a corner defenders would soon stop it.
There was at least one corner we had where the ref spotted an imaginary foul by our players despite the defender clearing the ball unimpeded.

Having seen the same highlights both definite penalties. The referee had a good view of both .
I've now seen even more decisions back from watching a couple vlogs that captured more highlights than the reels themselves, and seriously that ref was an embarrassment.
But I've done enough moaning now, time to move on and bounce back against Crawley and march on to the Championship
The worst decision for me came very early.
They passed the ball back and there was a defender facing their goal with Stansfield and I think Willumssun bearing down on him.
Under a bit of pressure from Stansfield the defender tried to turn and tripped over the ball. Willumssun would have been clean through in the area, but the ref gave them a free kick.
I thought it looked wrong at the time. On TV you can see Stansfield wasn't close to touching him and the defender just fell over.
Absolutely this. I knew from that moment we were getting nothing from him.
Had a message from my mom (who knows very little about football) just after HT and even she said how the hell are you supposed to do anything when the referee is making up excuses to give the other team the ball.
Think both of us should have had a pen - but the timewasting and play acting being allowed was ridiculous. How the feck did Juke get a booking for their keeper feigning and injury. Believe Davies eventually got booked on the touchline too when he'd finally had enough of his shite?
It's not the main reason we lost. But doesn't mean we arent right to criticise.
