We drew 0-0 at home to Middlesbrough on the day I was born in 1982.

My dad probably still went before nipping up to Dudley Road hospital on the evening.

In more pleasing news, Town Called Malice went to number 1 the next day (even if it's the worst Jam single....)

Surely Beat Surrender is worse?

Beat surrender is at the very top end of what they did, certainly musically.

You absolutely see the start of Style Council in that and Bitterest Pill.

Attendance 4,000

You must have all been playing a pool tournament

4,026.
The worst atmosphere ever at a game i've been to.
Three days after we'd been relegated and three days after the Hillsborough disaster.

It was extremely quiet and subdued, even for a 90% empty ground. I think everyone felt a bit numb. Not a lot to enjoy that night.

I don't recommend watching it. We really were terrible.I

Anyone who thinks we have been bad in recent seasons should see it to realise just how bad it could be.

Average home attendance that season - 6,289.

Lost 4-1 at home to Arsenal apparently

Massive pedant alert. That was 1963 - my first game.......meaning that for the Bristol City game on the 29th, it'll be 60 years plus one day in attendance at St Andrew's. On 28 December 1964, we lost 2-1 away to West Ham, still, in the first division, but to be relegated at the end of the season, finishing bottom.

We actually played on the day of my birth in 1953. Drew 1-1 at home to Southampton in Division 2. 18,387 in attendance. Finished 6th in that division.

If you want to lose significant parts of your life and can be bothered to keep deleting the adverts, the 11v11 website furnishes all these details (apologies if mentioned before)
