El MayorBinning Joe Edwards after 19 games.
Neil Harris to return apparently.
They wanted to play Guardiola style Tika Taka (the "Millwall Way" presumably) - 19 games and they go back to a regressive manager.
Make it make sense. As bad as us going Zola to Redknapp
My Blue HeavenI think that’s unfair, he certainly left us in a much better position than when he took over. I think he did Millwall too.
He’s an ok manger, he’s probably not a great coach that’s going to improve individuals but he’s definitely an organiser that gets the best out of a team . I think that’s his strength. I think like with lots of people there’s a limit to his ability and he’s not going to be the bloke to get teams up or improve a style of play. He’s more a Neil Warnock than a Mowbray
Well yeah - that's pretty much what I'm saying though. He's a good organiser who can get a team playing well but they don't develop and improve over time. When he leaves, it's still a crap team who can only play one way. The players he brings in reinforce that and when a new manager takes over, they either play Rowett-ball or they drop down the table.
I'm not suggesting he doesn't do a good job whilst he's at a club - he clearly does and gets teams to punch above their weight but that seems to be the only goal instead of improving the standards so that they don't have to punch above their weight and can instead compete and perhaps even dominate teams.
He takes a 5/10 team and tries to get them to score as many points as possible for a 5/10 team. When he leaves, they're still a 5/10 team.
Mowbray takes a 5/10 team and immediately starts working to improve that rating so that when he eventually leaves, they are better than they were when he joined.
Rab C NesbittMy Blue HeavenYeah that’s true, but Rowett never learns. His stow has a shelf life and he’s happy doing the same and getting a pay off. But his football is poor to watch. He’ll say and be backed up that his players can’t play better football. Rooney and Eustace said the same. Mowbray has shown you can tweak things immediately and play better footballI don’t blame any club for wanting to be better if I’m honest but Millwall were already punching before they hired a PE teacher and expected miracles
While I love TM, and long may he continue to be our manager, I think that the immediate acquisition of Dozzell, Paik and Pritchard might have been a tacit nod to Eustace's view on tht.
My Blue HeavenI think his football and style is just to be competitive and cautious. Looking at millwalls budget I don’t think they’d ever be a progressive side and get in top 7/8 with the players at their disposal so he tried to be pragmatic and shit house his way to it.
He’s just a decent championship manager, nothing more nothing less which is fine.
I was a bit surprised at milwalls fans attitude towards him as I think they were punching
Their squad is pretty average and they did well to be in with a sniff off the play offs last year
They fell apart against Blackburn
As I have said before though, the squads being average is partly down to him. He gets a load of workers in to nullify oppositions. Whoever takes over takes over a team that isn't capable of being better or different.
He has brought that shit in and it's not good for the long term of the club.

Oh yeah this guy said it.

CharcyIt’s a great line that mate. Pre Christmas last season showed they could do it. He panicked/bottled it with a couple of injuries. Plenty do tbf. We did, no arguing with that, but TM obviously saw the need to improve the on-the-ball ability in midfield pretty much straight away. It probably wasn't a surprise to many Blues fans.

True but that's in part because Mowbray demands completely different things from his central midfielders. I don't think Dozzell or Paik would get in a Eustace team ahead of Sunjic and Bielik.
Dozzell came in on loan from a team below us in the table and they all said he was shit but as it turns out, he can do what Mowbray wants him to do so he's an asset to us.

Something about Millwall fans crying and bleating is just objectively hilarious.
