Just wondering if any of the prolific posters have jobs, or work night shifts and don’t need sleep. If so, chapeau. Your efficiency and physical resilience are admirable.

Doesn’t reach the same amount of members though. Would have thought most have him on ignore.

We can only have a grown up conversation when people stop using pejoratives, hyperbole and half-truths when putting their point across.

For example-
Saying the back room staff “aren’t very good” after 5 games, many of which they had limited input into due to them being so poor at their jobs that they’re trusted to coach in the national set up.
Calling the new owners “idiotic” and ignorant about the club/players and calling them out as poor business men who are relying on “blind ambition without a concrete, well-thought out plan”.

If you want a grown up conversation then converse like a grown up. Use facts. Stick to what’s known instead of what might/could happen.

"Stick to what’s known" ... yes - we were 6th when we sacked Eustace - fact

Yes, that’s a fact. There’s no valid point to it but it’s a fact. It’s also a fact that the season doesn’t finish after 11 games so 6th in the table at that point is nothing more than recent history. There are many other things in our recent history that can be pointed out, like our league position under Eustace at the end of each of his seasons in charge. None of them were as high as 6th. Fact.

Your turn…

We have 1 point from a possible 15 since appointing Rooney - that's a fact

Before the Hudds and Albion game Eustace had 2 points from 5 games with a much easier set of fixtures than Rooney has had.

Fact.

It's not is it? You just take the league position of each team we've played.

You can pick and choose a criteria to back up the opinion -- why not take into account the injuries that Eustace had to contend with in those 5 games ?

It's still an opinion

But some opinions are rather better based than others. A lot of fans commented that the sacking came at a strange time given a run of five difficult games was just coming up.

See, that proves my point - and Rooney hasn't had Dembele out ..... the second part of the statement is opinion only.

Whatever happened to this "winning mentality" ? ... all we are getting is "excuse mentality"

At least i admit my support for Rooney is based on faith and faith alone, which is surely better than making excuses for him

Yes ... and it made the appointment decision even more stupid.

Anyone with any common sense would have waited for Eustace to fail so that fans would have had to shrug and say "well, they're the bosses, they can do what they like".

How many points would Eustace have got from our last 5 games coming on the back of the Huddersfield and West Brom results with a buoyant squad and a style of play that The Athletic shows was more adventurous than Rooney's ? .....

anyway, Rooney has two piss easy games now so i look forward to the 6 points

Under Eustace we'd have lost at Boro, beaten Hull, drawn at Southampton, beaten Ipswich and lost at Sunderland.

So, in your opinion, that would have been 7 points instead of the 1 point we actually got ?

My opinion only extends as far as thinking that if Eustace had only got 1 point from those 5 games then no-one could really have any complaints about him being sacked
13:43, Tue 21 Nov
Yeah just my opinion.

If Eustace had got one point after the poor run before Hudds/WBA the yeah he'd be lucky to keep my backing and I'd probably have taken him being sacked.
